Front Pages of the World

What is your favorite newspaper front page? Why?
The San Antonio newspaper, because its simple not to flashily.

What is your favorite headline from that newspaper? Why are you interested in it?
Canon City Daily Record, I like the headline the background of the headline makes it pop, clearer and easier to see.

How many stories are on the front page of your favorite?
There are 4 stories.

What do you notice that all newspaper front pages have in common? Look at design, size of photos, size of story text, etc.
A lot of newspaper has either very alike headlines if not then they are the same. Same design like where they put the the First stories and stuff like that. most of the ones in the U.S have the same size

What are things that vary (or are different) on the front pages of different newspapers? Look at design, size of photos, size of headlines, etc.

Different stories?ha no some newpapers have a background for their headline. Some have different size the ones that aren't in the U. S.

CAPTION

Jack the dog slobbers for a treat, at the animal shelter need a new home and family to be with. Jack has been at the there for more then 2 years, you can help him by calling 444-5545.

Lenses and Photography Vocabulary

I would use a telephoto lens to lets say take a photo of a bird, a build if i was in a really far distance, i would use this lens if i was like outdoors and in the forest type of place mostly.

I would use a prime lens if I was downtown at night or sundown time and just wanted to shoot a couple of random photos.

I would use a wide-angle lens to take a wide shoot view of downtown austin by the ladybird lake, or  on this hill that has a great view of the bridge  and wanted to view the lake too.

Depth of Field- when you can looking into the photo and see deep into the photo and/or just like the whole place.

Light (angle) is just which way the light is pointing to.

Light (intensity) is just how close the light or how far it is to you or the main object  of the photo.

Shadows- when the light is hitting the object in an angle and you can see the shadow of the object.

Diffusion-is when you control how bright or how low the light i, basically taking away light from your object, you can chose the type of light too.

Exposure- how much is viewed in the photo

Aperture(f-stop)- how big or small the open is, to let light in the photo.

Shutter speed- how fast the aperture opens and closes.

ISO- that controls how graining the photo is.

French Senate Passes Gay Marriage Bill

Timeliness   This just happened today that the landmark bill was put for it to became a law by summer.
Proximity – Ever soon, immediately actually just 30 minutes ago.
Prominence – Very worthier, because well this is long over due and the fact that most of the couples there are gay and are denied the right to married whom they love is just outrages

Impact – there at least 340,000 people swarmed on the Eiffel Tower to protest the plan to legalize gay marriage according to the police estimate.
Conflict – Opponents mostly conservatives and fervent  Roman Catholics , have sought to defend traditional marriage.

Human Interest The justice minister said the reform will "move our institutions towards ever more freedom, equality and personal respect

Novelty – about 125,000 proponents of the bill marched in the capital.

Blog #3 -- My Favorite Cover

Magazines Cover 2

1- EARLY MAGAZINE COVERS!!!

The early magazine cover the started from the mid-1700 didn't even have or use a image for their magazine by the 1835 they started to used more like a drawn picture and thats when the started to use more and more picture, making more attracted  and well prettier. By 1896 they started to use an actual image and making look cooler i guess you can say.

2- THE POSTER COVER:PICTURES THAT NEED NO WORDS

The magazine field was the dominate  for like 1890s to 1906s which is like 70 years. So it like really changed from the early magazine. It went from all word and one small drawn image cover, to having the photo or he image to take up the whole page. So its a whole different its more of a poster like cover and has only the title that pops out.

3- PICTURES MARRIED TO TYPE

On these cover they stared with the same style but now the words were more bigger, and they stared using a lot more words. They would use a large title with the model face overlapping it(we still do that)
Also they used cover lines on all sides of the model in one cover. The rest use almost the same style of cover the cover lines the title being the same and all. And as time moves along the start to use a lot more word but still keeping the poster type.

4-IN THE FOREST OF WORDS

Ok so this is more of the 21 st century when this all started happening, its like cover lines were just as important as cover art. Some covers had lines that were larger then the title, a good picture was not was enough for a good magazine. For cover photos are now mostly celebrities and models. Now and days we can rarely find a poster cover with little or no cover line we still have them but their not as popular now and days.

Protraits/self prortraits and photoshop intro

These are some that I really like and would like to do something like it. The black and white photo is great because I feel like even though its colorless and captures a lot more. I think I could do something like this for a portrait.

These two are my favorite self-portraits because well Mostly the bottom one because its well different. You don't usually see something like that and thats where I got my inspiration to do mine, I would love to have my self portrait to be me covered by paint and then have an empty canvas and a clean paint brush. I like to paint.

I like the upper view of the town or city because it shows the curves of the streets which really does who  how crazy it is.
