Lytro warm-up & Ethics in Fashion photography

Lytro Warm-Up

1. What did you see happen when you clicked on the photo?
Yu could hang the view point sort of and the focus too.
2. How does this new camera work?
Well I not so sure but does it take the whole picture a diastase so that later yo can choose how you would like to be done.
3. What do you think a photographer would have to know about to take this kind of photo (remember its a point-and-shoot, so its full manual mode, what do you need to know about)
shutter speed?
4. Is it worth the money?
Um if I had money heckYEAH!

FASHION

1. List the changes that were made to the model's face in the computer. (Look carefully)
They made her eyes were made bigger, her lips too, her neck was made longer and thinner, they also lower her eyes and made her face thinner too.
2. Is it ethically acceptable to change a person's appearance like this in a photo? Why or why not?
I don't think so, its wrong you're telling people oh look this is how she looks natural, why don't you look that. It's fake not real and you're just lying to people if you do that, but there is time were its ok to fix up a photo like that but a little like maybe clean up some teeth or make a scar less noticeable. Well at least thats what I think.
3. Are there circumstances in which it would be more ethically wrong to do this type of manipulation?
Of course! Its like you're telling girls and guys that you had to look a certain why to be acceptant  by everyone.
4. What types of changes are OK, and what aren't?
I think I just answer that but um like cleaning up some teeth and making a  scar less noticeable.

5. Explain what you think the differences are between fashion photography and photojournalism.
I think photojournalism is more about the photo, how it was taken, the rules, and the meaning trying to be told in one set of photo.which is real hard to do since every one see things differently and its like they say a picture has a million things to say. And thats all a photo is a picture of life you know? where fashion photography is more about the actualy
person what he or she is wear and it is all about they look the clothes the style which i think can be really difficult.

Aperture, Shutter Speed, ISO - how do they all work?

a photo taken at aperture setting F2.8

photo taken at F16 or higher.

1. What part of the body should we closely relate aperture?
Our Eye.
2. the smaller the Aperture [the bigger the f-stop], the higher the Aperture [the smaller the f-stop].

3. In your own words tell me how aperture impacts Depth of Field

Where the area of the picture appears sharp.

high shutter speed

slow shutter speed

1. If you were assigned to shoot at Blue and Gold night, which was earlier this month, what shutter speeds do you think you would have to shoot at the following events that night I would like you to answer the question for the following two situations:

At the beginning while the sun is still partially up and the courtyard has reasonable light
a.) the dunking booth
high shutter speed
b.) the food eating contest
high shutter speed
c.) the rock climbing
slow shutter speed
d.) someone working at a booth
high shutter speed
e.) the DJ/MC working at the middle of the circle
slow shutter peed
f.) the Diamonds performance.
ih shutter speed

Towards the end when there is no sun and has gotten dark enough that you can't see from one end of the courtyard to the other.
a.) the dunking booth
high shutter speed
b.) the food eating contest
slow shutter speed
c.) the rock climbing wall
slow shutter speed
d.) someone working at a booth
slow shutter speed
e.) the DJ/MC working at the middle of the circle
slow shutter speed
f.) the Diamonds performance.
high shutter speed

2. List the three settings your camera has regarding setting shutter speed (these are found at #5 on the Shutter Speed website. Explain how each works - DO NOT COPY AND PASTE, use your own words.

Fast shutter speed is used for when you want a still picture and there's a lot of fast movement, Slow shutter is use for when there's not a lot of movement,  And Fast shutter speed is used when there is no light and you cant see anything.

a photo taken at ISO 200

a photo taken at ISO 3200 or 6400

1. What are the advantages of shoot at a higher ISO at a sporting event like basketball or a night football game?

There is an advantage because with a higher ISO at a night football game you will be able to see because you need a higher ISO when there is no light.

2. What suggestions did the author make about using a low ISO?

the author suggested that when there is plenty of light, you should always use the lowest ISO, to retain the most detail and to have the highest image quality.

3. What suggestions did the author make about using a high ISO?
The author suggested that you should use a higher ISO when there is not enough light for the camera to be able to quickly capture an image.

Rules of Photography part II

2 - Think about your motivation and emotions: Blankly staring at the camera rarely gets good results. Be silly, don’t be afraid to over-act. The worst that can happen is that you fill up your memory card with useless photos; but you might also find yourself with a proper gold-nugget of a self portrait.

5 - Use a tripod. Seriously. While it’s possible to get good photos while you’re hanging on to your camera at arms-length, it’s a lot easier if you’ve got the freedom to move around a bit.

6 - Focussing is easier if you use a smaller aperture;

 Environmental portrait

I like this one because It should what she does for a live well thats my guess at leastAnd she painted what looks like her self so thats pretty cool. I guess I also like this photo because I can see myself n something like this, I also like how she painted words in her painting because its something the she could had said but could't show it and this was a great way ,you know.
I love this show haha and This is really what he does on his show mostly and its hilarious , its not like his paying attention and its silly which is i think something that is great to use in a a portrait, not have everything all serious all time.

I like this photo because

Abandoned Theme Parks

1. Tell me which amusement park featured in the two articles that you would like to visit and take your camera along and what about that park made you want to go there. Write at least a paragraph.

Russian Village, from Niigata Japan and Okpo land, from South Korea.I pick those two because one of them was haunted and the other one a little girl was killed there(I know that might not be the best reason to go somewhere) I'll probably be more interested to visit Okpo land because its haunted and I like haunted places more. Plus I like the way its looks , it has a creepy look to it and I think it'll be funnier to take photos there.

2. Post one photo from that park. You may use the photos from the link, or you can google an entirely new photo. I would prefer to see a photo of the park in disrepair and not a photo of it when it was still operating.

3. Think of at least FIVE other unusual places you think would be of interest to photographers. List them.
Basements & Attics, Abandoned Buildings , Train Stations & Subways ,Alley Ways and ,Traffic.

4. Use google or another search engine to research ONE of your five places and see if anyone has already started documenting that place. If you find that someone has already started - post at least one photo of their work.

5. Write a paragraph about why you think that it would be fun to document that location. Tell me what interests you about that place and what kind of photos you could expect to take there.

I think it would be fun to take photos some place like this because its big like it has a lot of space and if there lots of things in ruined room like this that would be cool because then I could have more to work with.
6. Tell me what it would take for you to go and take photos at your location. What would you need as far as equipment goes, travel plans, expenses you might encounter and what laws you would have to take into consideration to take photos at your spot.
I would

Great B&W photographers part 3

MINOR WHITE

1.) What first caught your eye while looking at your photographers photos? Is there something in particular about their photos that made you want to choose them?

No not really I only chooses them because I need one I was just randomly pick  until I found something that I though look coo.l. This is what made the cut, I fuss the reason why I stop and choose this one was because well 1 I was tried and 2 I like the lines in this picture and in every other photo he had, had lines.

2.) Look at those 2 photos you posted last time in the assignment Great Black and White Photographers Part 2. Use your five senses to tell me more about those photos. Answer them on your blog.

If I was in this photo I would ..

I see a long road with trees on both sides of the road and the sun rise on the left.
I smell the smell of rain and like storm weather I guess and the smell of grass
I hear the wind blowing
I taste air.
I feel the light breeze in the air blowing through my fingers and hair.

3.) Finally, what would you like to create to show the world your great photographer. Ideas include, posters, power points, a blog, etc. You tell me what you would like to create so we can come up with a plan to share your thoughts and ideas about your photographer with your classmates and with the rest of the school

What I would do is make a blog about this guy, to show how great of an photography, and if I had to do a present about someone I'll do it about this guy and talk about his photography .

Africa and Mural Project preview

I thought those photo were amazing, they were beautiful I loved them

This photo here has to be one of my favorite ones, I like the way it captures your eyes and stuff. The baby elephant to me was the main thing I guess.
He used balance, and the rule of thirds, balance because you can form the elepants head to make a triangle.

The camera that he used was  a Pentax 67, with a short lens.

Academic Shoot reflection

1. What challenges did you encounter while trying to get the photos following the rules I set out for you?

For me Balance and Simplicity were really hard to find because I couldn't really find anything that was like that.

2. What technical aspects of photography or the assignment in general (focus, framing, holding the camera, etc.) did you find yourself thinking about the most? Provide a specific example of what you did to do this correctly.

Framing, Lines focus and the tips that he gave us mostly people they were really simple and easy to find.
3. If you could do the assignment again, what would you do differently now that you know some basic rules of photography?

Go to different classes and use my time more wisely and try harder

4. What things would you do the same?
I would keep taking photo the same way I do.

5. When you go out with your next set of prompts, which rule do you think will be the easiest to achieve?

Line, rule of thirds and maybe farming depending on what the prompts are.
6. Which rule do you think will be the hardest to capture?

Balance well mostly because for me is the hardest to find.
7. What rule are you still not totally clear on and what can you do to figure out what that rule is?

Balance I know how it works I just don't know how it looks like for sure and think if I keep practicing  it and keep looking for balance I can understand it better.

Academic shoot

Lines-Framing-Rule of Thirds
The subject is the guy there doing something weird, and yes it is clear to people what the subject. If I could do something different here I would crop out some of the right side of the photo up to the blue line to make it look better.

Simplicity
I think the main subject is the girl there laughing , and it should be clear to the people what the subject is.The thing I would do different here is use a different background because then it will be more simpicity I guess I don't know if that makes sense.

 Avoiding Mergers
The  Guy there is the main subject with him looking throw the things.I guess if I had to do something different here is take the photo where you could see his face and yeah.
Balance
The guys there in a circle are the main subject and I don't think its clear to the people what the subject is because there is things in the background.I not sure what I would do different here, guess not take it.

Lines
The subject is the poles there, I think its clear to the people that the subject is clearly If I had to do something different here I would take this photo when no one is there.

The story behind this, is preparing for a show and a dance anything to be performed. You can tell by the way the girl is putting on lipstick and by the people in the background getting dress.
